1. DELIVERIES -
- The carriage for speakers and other items is tracked and insured for full value, a signature will be required on delivery. The cost may vary, but for mainland UK assume around £20 for speakers, £5 for a single tweeter unit and £8 for a bass unit, depending on speed of delivery etc. Weekend or timed deliveries are available but will cost more than this, as will deliveries to remote areas (you probably know this if you live there). All carriage will be done at the buyers risk unless specifically stated (see reasons below). Export buyers will decide the insured value of the items they are importing and liability will be limited to that amount. Buyers are responsible for their own import customs charges. Insurance cover is at the buyers discretion and cost.
- All deliveries over £50 will require a signature. Once the package is delivered and signed for I cannot make any claim on the insurance so cannot make any payment in recompense for damage caused in delivery. Therefore do not sign without checking the contents of the parcel first, preferably with the delivery driver in attendance, and then decide whether to reject the delivery as damaged or keep it. If you decide to keep it then sign the form clearly marking 'damaged on delivery' and take photos of the package and the damaged item/s which will be needed for your claim. The claims procedure takes 8-10 weeks so it's often best to reject the parcel unless you're sure it will be OK for you.
2. Returns -
- I am happy to accept returns for anything I have sold. This is a no quibble guarantee, if you're not happy then return for a refund of the purchase price. NB Postage costs are not refundable, either way.
3. Other Practical Issues -
- All SL6 range original tweeters are supplied without fascia plates (unless stated). You can send me the tweeter fascia plate and I return the new tweeter to you mounted on your plate. Or I can send it fitted to a metal protective front plate to protect the dome. If the dome has been damaged and reformed I will tell you otherwise you can assume it's fine with little or no signs of wear.
- The later SL6S/Si SL12 and SL700 two piece bass units do not always react well to air travel. I think it's variance of pressure, temperature or both. This effectively ages them quickly (only sometimes though) and may cause small imperfections in the surround. If this happens (and it only rarely does) then please contact me, with pics., and I will supply a new surround FOC.
- All units sold are refurbished as NOS items seem to have dried up completely. This means they are removed from speakers, repaired if necessary and then subjected to full testing, both audible and electrical, before being passed for sale. Units may be fitted with new surrounds. This is rarely necessary for the one piece surrounds in SL6 and SL600's but commonly needed with the SL6S/Si, 700 and SL12. Where needed one piece rubber or foam surrounds are fitted.
- Where cabinets are refurbished there can be no guarantee of perfection. Sanding down the veneer, or removing the Nextel, is not so much a science as an art so there may be tiny areas where the veneer is lost or there are imperfections in finish. These will be shown on pics and referred to if significant. I remove the whole surface, including all varnish etc. and eliminate all scratches and most dents so your refurbished speaker will have surface like new. The base may still have marks from stands etc. It's then treated to enhance the grain and given several polishes with bees wax, keep doing that and they get better and better. The aluminium surrounds are cleaned and repainted where necessary and varnished to keep them in good condition. The back of the speaker is cleaned and/or repainted and the terminals cleaned and replaced if necessary.
- Due to the age of the items no guarantee can be extended as to their future life beyond them being in full working order at the time of delivery. I am willing to accept returns if you aren't 100% happy with your purchase. This does not apply to any new items which you purchase.
- All Celestion speakers can be returned if you are not happy with them. I will refund the purchase price upon receipt of them in undamaged condition. Buyer responsible for all carriage costs, both ways.
- All returns to be arranged within 14 days of despatch date.
- I've not had a pair back yet, no-one has said they were even slightly disappointed and only one pair were damaged in transit so you can expect them to be well packed.
- Please note that I cannot do refunds on international sales due to the potential shipping, insurance and customs difficulties.
- Except for when specifically requested or stated, speakers do not always come with grills. Although I always try to add a pair for safer transit they might be in poor condition. So if you want a decent set of grills please make that clear to me at time of purchase. Many listeners discard the grilles so I often don't get them with the cabinets I buy.
